Donald J. McNally
June 20, 1929 - April 26, 2016
SAVANNAH – Donald McNally, 86, died April 26, 2016, at Hospice House surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was born June 20, 1929 in Plainfield, New Jersey and lived in Savannah and Lawrenceville, Georgia for most of his life. Don served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1962.
Don played minor league baseball for the Pittsburgh organization in the 1950’s. His travels took him to Brunswick, GA where he met his wife Addie Lou Butts. They were married on November 22, 1952. Don enjoyed playing tennis up in to his mid 70’s.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandra McNally; daughter, Ellen McNally; grandchildren, Laura, Kaitlyn, and Amanda; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be having a Private Service.
The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to Hospice House of Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
I worked with Don at Savannah Tech. He took me under his wing my first week there. We were good friends. He watched out for me like I was one of his own. I loved, admired, and respected him. I have missed him over the years but had no clue how to find him. My sincere condolences to the family.
